Breath is synonymous with life. We often take it for granted until something serious crops up. Although Air pollutants are one of the major contributors in hampering our respiratory health, but we should also keep a conscious check on the food that we eat, the nutrients that we put into our bodies, our sleeping cycle and unnecessary stress and anxiety. All of these factors also have a huge impact on the health of our respiratory system.

Things to look out for that will help us maintain and boost our respiratory health:

1) Prevention from pollutants and infectious germs

We must avoid exposure to all sorts of harmful particles like lead, dust mite, pesticides, secondhand smoke, foul odours and vehicle exhaust. It may not be on the top of our minds, but staying hydrated plays a definite role in our lung’s health as well. Drinking enough water keeps our lungs lubricated and helps to thin the mucus that naturally accumulates in our lungs each day, which in turn allows us to breathe more easily.
